How do star ratings work?

  • Updated

Customers can rate the quality of their order using a 5 point scale, represented by stars. Customers can rate delivery on a 3 point scale, represented by emojis.

A restaurant’s rating for each order is calculated by averaging the customers’ rating for quality and delivery, giving equal weight to each. The restaurant/store overall rating is then determined using the median (the middle rating in a list sorted from lowest to highest) of all the published reviews left within the last 12 months, and is updated every time a new rating is submitted. We present the restaurant/store overall rating in key places, including: under their name on the restaurant listing page and on the restaurant's menu page where the score is represented by stars or a decimal rating.
Ratings that are part of a review that has been removed from the platform may (in limited circumstances) still be considered in overall rating calculations.
